Book Trike

Meet the newest member of YDL's Outreach Fleet! The Book Trike is an adult tricycle that holds 60 books and one library staff member--a tiny traveling library.

Everyone loves the Bookmobile, but it can't be in two places at once! The Book Trike gives the library even more flexibility to meet you where you are. The Trike can easily fit in at a Heritage Festival booth or a celebration in Library Plaza. And since it's pedal-powered, the trike is a green way to get books around town!

The book trike was made possible through the YTrikes program, funded through EMU and the Ypsilanti Community Schools. We also had a lot of help from Short Punk Cycleworks in getting the bike up and running.

Catch the Book Trike every Tuesday this summer at the Farmer's Market from 4-6pm, and at community events and parades throughout the year.
